Getting the support you need

The NDIS is a new way of providing Australians living with a permanent and significant disability (aged under 65) with the necessary support required to live independently.

Eligible people are given a plan of support which is developed and tailored to their individual needs. This NDIS plan can provide assistance for existing informal and mainstream supports that a person receives through family, friends, education or other community services. NDIS plans can also fund reasonable and necessary formal supports that help participants achieve their goals, including equipment, trained professionals and therapeutic services*.

*Criteria for NDIS “reasonable and necessary supports” can be found through the NDIS website.

What are the Capacity Building Supports?

There are 3 separate support budgets that you may find in your NDIS plan. These are your Core Supports, Capital Supports and Capacity Building Supports. Your Capacity Building Supports budget aims to help you develop your independence and skillset in order to reach your goals. These include factors such as:

  • Finding a home
  • Relationship building
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Further Education
  • Employment Assistance
  • And more

Funding these elements can help in many aspects of your life from getting a job to building up a healthy exercise routine. It is all about promoting further independence and your improving your quality of life.

Why Exercise is an Important Part of Your Independence and Development

Most people know that exercise is great for physical health, but there are so many aspects of fitness that significantly improve other areas of your life.

With our mobile exercise physiology services, we individualise your plan in order for you to get the most out of your routine. We focus on improving your strength and mobility to help in your everyday life and provide safe exercise regimes based on different capabilities. Exercise physiology also gives you the chance to improve your social skills and may help to improve your mental health.
